The Deep Underground is the story of Ada and Ky, two evolutionary freaks trying to survive in a dystopian future.  The Deep itself is the underground portion of a utopian City.  Those who live in the Deep are proles, the dregs of society, or Transies, evolutionarily advanced humans that look anything but human.  Those who live in the City are the Norms,  evolutionary advanced humans that still appear normal and the Decendents, advanced humans that are directly descended from the founders of the city, in short, the Blue Bloods of the evolutionary chain.

Ada and Ky find themselves battling daily to keep their heads above the local prole wars as well as dodge the Enforcers.  Enforcers are an elite group of police that were created by the Genetics Council, the ruling body of the City, to keep peace in the City and ensure the people in the Deep stay where they belong.
